Something we need you to check

If you are a narrator with a profile here, please open it and look at Voice presentation (which asks how your voice reads to a listener, not who you are). For most of the directory we filled that field in ourselves, and we would rather have your answer than our guess. The whole thing is explained here.

An unsubscribe link in every mailshot

Any email we send that is not a direct response to something you did now carries a visible unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works in one click. Account email (password resets, audition notifications, verification) is not affected and has no opt-out, because you need it.

Voice presentation, and a filter to match

Since launch, an author posting a listing has been able to ask for a voice type. Narrators had no way to answer it and the narrator directory could not be filtered on it. That gap is now closed.

Voice presentation asks how your voice reads to a listener. It is not a question about who you are. It is optional, you can tick more than one box, and leaving it blank keeps you in every search result.

We filled it in for most of the directory, from pronouns or by reading profiles, and every value we set is marked as our guess. Saving your profile replaces it with your answer. Voice presentation, explained in full covers what it asks, who can see it, and exactly what we guessed.

Download everything we hold about you

The data export in your account settings now covers the whole picture: your full narrator profile, credits, samples, auditions, saved searches, email history and previous profile URLs. It is a plain file you can read.

Edit a sample's details without re-uploading it

The samples manager used to offer only Delete, so fixing a sample's genre or its one-line description meant deleting it and uploading it again. That also quietly moved your featured sample, because samples order by upload. You can now edit both in place. Raised by a narrator, and he was not the first to notice.

Search the narrator directory by name

Authors who arrive knowing who they are looking for can now type a name. The directory's shuffle also stays put while you browse, so leaving a narrator's profile and going back no longer reorders the whole page under you.

Unlisted listings

An author can post a listing that does not appear on the public listings page and is reachable only by its link. For private casting, or for inviting a shortlist directly.

Share auditions with someone who has no account

A rights holder can share the auditions on one of their listings with a co-author, publisher or agent over an email-gated link. The invitee does not need an account, gets a listen-only page, and the link can be revoked or expired. It can be limited to a single role on a multi-cast listing, or to the shortlist rather than everything received.

Saved-search alerts

Verified narrators can save a browse search and get an email when a new listing matches it. Asked for, unprompted, by three narrators on a Clubhouse show in June. There is a guide to setting one up.

Dual, duet and multi-cast listings

A listing can carry several roles, each cast separately, and narrators audition for the role rather than for the book. The big platforms handle multi-voice casting badly, and romance authors in particular kept saying so.

Narrator share cards

Sharing your Auditiono profile now produces a proper branded card, with your name, logline and headshot, instead of whatever the link preview scraped off the page.
